Minibuses given youth overhaul

A group of young people from a Westminster housing estate have transformed two old minibuses in an initiative based on the MTV programme Pimp My Ride.

Young people from Churchill Gardens Youth Club have upgraded the buses' mechanics and redecorated both the interior and exterior. The young people all attended a car maintenance workshop to learn skills such as replacing wheels.

The project was based on the MTV programme Pimp My Ride, which sees old cars undergo a facelift.

Sidney McDonnell, one of the young people who took part in the initiative, said: "It was cool, I really enjoyed it. The tutors were very helpful and good at explaining stuff to us."
