Midlothian Sure Start, which runs six family support centres, was overall winner at this year's Integrated Health Awards, organised by the Prince of Wales' Foundation for Integrated Health.
Prince Charles and TV gardener Alan Titchmarsh presented the project with a cheque for £5,000 at a ceremony in London last week. Project manager Cheryl Brown said: "We work with families to make a real difference to their lives and they are at the heart of this project."
Judges were impressed with how the project helped children learn through play, while providing courses for parents.
