
Youth charities Ambition and the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services (NCVYS) announced earlier this month that they are to merge on 1 April.
Certain aspects of NCVYS will be incorporated into Ambition (see box), while Ambition will retain its current name.
The two organisations entered talks about a possible merger in mid-January and prior to that in October 2015, the organisations, along with UK Youth, had held discussions about possible collaboration within the youth sector.
When the merger was announced NCVYS chief executive Susanne Rauprich said the process was never about the future of NCVYS but about the future of the youth sector “in its widest sense”.
