MENTORING: Shell launches youth business mentoring scheme

1 min read

The internet-based service will give young people aged 16 and above online access to existing young business professionals who have volunteered to share knowledge and advice. Visitors can get questions answered on topics covering sales and marketing, management, personnel and funding.

Development of the service has been funded by the Government's enterprise initiative, the Small Business Service, and was overseen by the Business Volunteer Mentors' Association.

The launch of the service builds on the existing youth enterprise work already carried out by Shell LiveWIRE since its launch in 1982.

Nigel Griffiths, Department of Trade and Industry minister for small business, said the new service supported the Government's own 1.2 million initiative to encourage business mentoring schemes. "Crucially, the advice will be available round the clock," said Griffiths.
