Based on a symposium held in March, Perspectives on the causes of mental health problems in children and adolescents looks at factors such as pre-birth experience and social pressures.
Richard Meier, policy officer at Young Minds' Stressed Out and Struggling project, said: "There is a danger in looking at single issues in treating young people. There is a need for policymakers and service providers such as CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) to take a joined-up approach on the multiplicity of factors and the interplay between them, as not everyone responds to pressure in the same way."
