The event will include the premiere of in-sight, a short animated film about a young man's struggle with depression (YPN, 23-29 March, p14), and the launch of a web site on mental health.
The launch also marks the start of training for youth workers who lack mental health expertise.
Brand said: "Suicide seems to have acquired a sense of glamour. But there is nothing glamorous about being depressed, alone and addicted to drugs as I was two-and-a-half years ago."
Jeff Halperin, head of Camden Mental Health Psychology Services, said he hoped the work could continue after the pilot funding runs out in November.
