Participation
I'm currently a member of the voluntary internet TV news crew On Hattersley, which is funded by Media Trust's Community Voices initiative. We produce online news programmes that cover local stories and also celebrate what is great about the area.

After sixth-form college I was unsure about whether or not I would like student life so I felt that some experience of the real world and a break from education would help clear my head.

I've now realised that I'd like to pursue a career in the media. The media professionals who lead the project have taught me so much and inspired me to look for work in this field. I would really recommend voluntary work as a way of getting experience and it also helps you decide what type of job you would like to do in the future.
