Letters: Children's trusts loss worrying

1 min read Letters

The fact the legal duty on local authorities to co-operate in children's trusts and produce children and young people plans has been scrapped risks child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) returning to the Cinderella of Cinderella services.

Children's trusts meant that for the first time all agencies were brought together to meet young people's needs. Children and young people plans also ensured that young people's views were taken into account when planning services.

We must ensure agencies and commissioners continue to work together, share budgets and do not return to working in silos or thousands of young people needing CAMHS support may not get the help they need from the right people.
