Leading the fight on FGM: Celia Jeffreys, head of the National FGM Centre

Jess Brown talks to Celia Jeffreys, head of the National FGM Centre.

Experienced midwife Celia Jeffreys was appointed head of the first national centre to tackle Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) when it opened last year. It is funded by the Department for Education.

A recent report by the home affairs select committee described the lack of FGM prosecutions in the UK as "lamentable", with failure by clinicians to record information about abuse as being a major contributory factor. Do you agree with the committee's findings?
