The Immigration Law Practitioners' Association comments come in response to a UK Border Agency consultation on reforming the asylum support system. The association said: "The UK Border Agency should take the opportunity for a radical overhaul of the system. This should include consideration of abolishing the provisions that prevent asylum-seeking families with children from accessing mainstream local authority support."
