I ran my school's cultural workshops consisting of dhol drumming and bhangra dancing, which helped encourage cultural awareness. The young people loved the sessions and were able to embrace something new. Like anything in school, it's only worth the time if we can take something away from it.
Christmas? Christmas has always been a big part of every community's life regardless of whether they are Christian or not. For me, Christmas is a time of family and holidays where we all get a bit of time away from the stresses of work and some space to chill. It's a HIT!
Student fees? DISS! Now that I'm at university I truly appreciate the big agenda that surrounds student fees. Some of the students in the year above me only had to pay a third of what I'm paying. I can't help but think why do I have to pay a lot more than somebody who did the exact same degree at the same uni only a year ago?
