The Government is considering whether to force schools to provide hot meals. Schools minister Stephen Twigg told a fringe event that the Department for Education and Skills was discussing whether to strengthen guidance sent to schools. "At present the situation is that we say we have a 'strong assumption' that hot meals should be provided. We will be looking to see if the resources are there, but there is certainly an opportunity to improve the position."
