The CYP Now Awards celebrate the very best people and projects working with children, young people and families across the UK. The countdown to this year's event begins in earnest as we reveal the shortlist

The Children & Young People Now Awards, now in their seventh year, recognise and reward excellent practice in supporting children, young people and families to lead happy, healthy and successful lives. Too often, this work goes unrecognised and unappreciated.

We received almost 400 entries across 19 categories from across the UK and our expert panel of judges has now whittled down the entries to produce the shortlist. Thank you to all of you who entered and congratulations if your work has made the shortlist – it is no mean feat and an excellent achievement in itself. A panel of young judges is examining the shortlisted entries and their marks will be added to those of the expert panel to help determine the winners in each category. As well as providing a tremendous sense of pride, these awards provide a vital source of learning and excellent practice for the sector at large.

The winners will be revealed at a gala awards ceremony on the evening of Thursday 29 November in the striking Georgian clubhouse at the Hurlingham Club in Fulham, west London. The night promises entertainment, dinner and the awards presentations. We hope you will be able to join us for a great night out!
