Is online networking safe for primary-school children?

1 min read Education
Children are joining social networking websites from very young ages, despite receiving little education about online safety.

YES

Esther Guy, founder, School Together Now

Social networking is safe for children as long as they understand the risks and have the necessary supervision and support from parents and teachers.

You wouldn't let your children play in a public playground without telling them not to talk to strangers and therefore the same applies online.

At School Together Now we put child safety at the heart of everything we do. We encourage the social networking experience to be one for the whole family to share. The site is safe because the child's details are hidden, they are only encouraged to speak to real friends and inappropriate content is prevented.
