Introduction of the Pupil and Parent Guarantees

1 min read
Pupil and Parent Guarantees (PPGs) are being introduced by the government to clearly set out all requirements that can be expected of schools by both pupils and parents.

PPGs aim to show what schools should be delivering and what consistent entitlement parents can expect to receive, so that all pupils get the best possible education.

Some entitlements are not new, however, publishing them all in one document gives children, families and schools a comprehensive account of what children and young people can expect from their school career.

The pupil guarantee states that all pupils are taught a broad and balanced curriculum where they gain skills for learning and life, and are taught in a way that meets their needs and where progress is regularly checked. There should be good behaviour, strong discipline and promotion of pupils' health and wellbeing.
