The three main parties were quizzed over their stance on the future of children's rights. Neil Puffett examines their responses.

For years, children's rights campaigners have vigorously expressed concerns over how the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is being implemented in the UK.

Despite calls for the convention to be fully incorporated into UK law, there are still a number of areas where the UK fails to uphold the convention.

An attempt to introduce a Children's Rights Bill by Liberal Democrat peer Baroness Walmsley ran out of time before the general election. So, as a new parliament prepares to convene, where do the parties stand on issues of concern and what can be expected in the future?
