The setting in Aston caters for 12 young people aged 14 to 18 who have a range of disabilities including Down's syndrome, autism and behavioural problems. Working there is not without its challenges, revealed care manager Jo Stephenson, but she added: "In a children's home staff work very effectively as a team."
We heard from residents including Robert Cashmore, 17, who said he was "very happy" at Camborne, although was "very upset" when he first arrived. "I showed that by staying in my room and not mixing with the other children," he said. "The staff understood why I was down and they let me do that, but then gradually I made friends."
