Mission: To educate young people on the dangers of gun and weapon-related crime

Funding: The 10,000 project has so far been funded by the organisers

Work began on the Streetwise project back in 2003 when four youth workers decided to unite to try to solve the growing problem of gang culture.

Umair Masood, head of operations, says: "We started looking at issues around gang and gun culture and talking to young people in the area about how easy it is for them to get hold of knives and guns.

"We decided that the best way to tackle the problem was by educating and empowering young people."
