The cash will give every child in England access to breakfast clubs,out-of-hours tuition and after-school clubs in sport, music anddrama.
Families will also be able to access services such as childcare, familylearning and parental support and will be offered quick access tospecialist services for their child such as speech therapy.
The funding will mean every school in England will offer access toextended services by 2010. Schools will be able to deliver the extendedservices themselves or in partnership with other schools or voluntaryand community organisations.
First year allocations of the funding will be released to schools andlocal authorities as part of their General Sure Start Grants andStandards Fund in the autumn.
