1 min read Early Years
Children's centres, early years and childcare in England have been given a 4bn boost from the government, to be spread over the next three years.

The funding includes cash to support outreach work with the most disadvantaged families. www.surestart.gov.uk

4Children is hosting a conference on extended schools next month. The event on 10 October in London follows the government's achievement on the second milestone to have 6,000 schools offering extended services by the end of this month. www.4children.org.uk/extendedservices07

The Department for Health and Together for Children have published a series of resources to help improve joint working between local authorities and health organisations around children's services. Download them free at www.childrens-centres.org

Opportunity Links has launched a starter package aimed at helping children's centres deliver information, advice and guidance to local families in line with the Childcare Act 2004. www.opp-links.org.uk
