PURPOSE
To reduce secondary pupils' likelihood of substance misuse

FUNDING
A £4.3m Big Lottery Fund grant over five years from April 2014

BACKGROUND
The Amy Winehouse Foundation was set up by the singer's family in September 2011 after her death to address drug and alcohol misuse among young people.

Its Resilience Programme grew out of Amy's father Mitch's experiences of meeting recovering addicts, who told him they had not received education about drugs at school or talked about emotional wellbeing.

In April 2014, the charity embarked on a five-year drugs education and prevention programme for 250,000 pupils, in partnership with drug and alcohol treatment charity Addaction.
