HOMELESSNESS: Independent living course proves a hit

The programme aims to equip young people at Edinburgh Campaign and Services for the Homeless' Stopover centre with basic skills such as budgeting.

Stuart Mear, the project co-ordinator at Canongate Youth Project, which organises the scheme, said: "We've been piloting the project at the Stopover for about eight weeks now and the residents really like it. The pilot went really well, so we've been able to start the full programme straight away."
