Knowing how to shop at a supermarket, get up on time and pay the rent are just some of the things most young people pick up by the time they leave home.
But for young people who have had a disrupted home life, been in care or are homeless, getting their heads around basic everyday activities can be particularly stressful, especially if no-one is around to show you what to do.
Money available
Last week, the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister announced it was giving a further 5bn towards housing projects for vulnerable people, including young people, in England. But providing housing is only part of the help infrastructure required for groups such as the young homeless or care-leavers.
