Hit or Diss?

1 min read
THE X FACTOR?

HIT - I've only just started watching this series and the new format where people have to audition in front of a packed live audience is fantastic. However, it is quite humiliating for the people who think they're the next Mariah Carey but can't sing at all. Also, perhaps the live audience will influence the vote of the judges.

KERRY KATONA?

DISS - Celebrities are supposed to be role models. Kerry Katona has had a rough time but she should have sought help and not turned to drugs. Taking drugs won't solve anything in the long term.

UNPAID INTERNSHIPS?

HIT and DISS - The experience they offer is fantastic, but what young person can afford a commute to work and back every single day, have enough money to live and have a social life? Why should a huge corporation benefit from their unpaid labour?

THE DEATH OF NEWSPAPERS?

HIT - Not having newspapers is better for the environment. Also it may make people think about issues more rather than feeding off the rubbish written in the tabloids. Surely less people reading The Sun or the Daily Star can't be a bad thing.

WIDER SEATS ON TRAINS?

HIT - What a clever, simple idea to help overweight people. But perhaps they should make the trains bigger to give them even more room. However, DISS to the person for being obese. Sometimes though, it can be a thyroid problem.

HYBRID CARS?

HIT - I love them. Anything that is good for the environment is a hit for me, although I'm not too fond of the cost, so in the short term they're not so useful.

GENDER SELECTION OF BABIES?

DISS - We could end up with lots more men or, even worse, lots more women. Joke, joke. Nature knows what she's doing and we should just let her be. Sometimes it is better not to mess with things - there are lots of potential unknown dangers.

DESIGNER CLOTHING?

DISS - Sometimes even the expensive labels use cheap labour, which makes it difficult to know whether to buy them or not. I'm for any brand that saves me money, which is terrible, but sometimes you simply can't afford those designer labels can you?
