Hillingdon holds remembrance day

Young and old joined together in Hillingdon, Greater London, last month to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

Young people from the Polish Girl Guides and Scouts joined more than 150 veterans and HRH The Duke of Kent at the event, organised by the Polish Air Force Association Trust.

The event took place at the Polish War Memorial, which was erected in 1948 to commemorate the role of the Polish air force in the Second World War. Exiled Polish air force squadrons were stationed at nearby RAF Northolt during the war.
