Colchester Children and Young People's Strategic Partnership is to research the impact of NHS deficits on children and young people's services in the area.
Last week the Department of Health released figures showing overspend among NHS Trusts.
Colchester Primary Care Trust has a deficit of about 4.4m and the issue was on the agenda at last week's partnership meeting, said Matthew Young, project and support manager at Colchester Borough Council and co-chair of the Children and Young People's Strategic Partnership. "We need more details from the primary care trust on what agencies are currently being affected and what the impact will be on young people themselves."
