Health News: Teenage pregnancy - Sexual health lead role needs aboost

The role of sexual health leads in health organisations needs to be boosted if they are to prioritise teenage sexual health, experts have warned.

Many leads are too junior to contribute at a senior level and prioritisesexual health on boards' agendas, according to the Independent AdvisoryGroup on Sexual Health and HIV's 2004/05 annual review.

But Dr William Ford-Young, a GP and group member, said despitegovernment teenage pregnancy targets, sexual health leads were"instrumental" and were key representatives.
