Health News: Sexual Health - Call to recognise GP improvements

GPs should be given recognition for improving their approaches to working with young people on their sexual health needs, say campaigners.

Research by Imperial College London and University College London showssexual disease clinics are failing to tackle increasing numbers ofsexually transmitted diseases and lack treatment availability.

Toni Belfield, director of information at fpa, pointed out that GPs wereideally placed to take on treatment. "If we continue to give theimpression that they're not helpful, we'll impart the myth to youngpeople," she added.
