The trial service will be run by the Family Welfare Association and willhelp children communicate with mentally ill relatives at Mile EndHospital.
Catriona Scott, service manager at the Family Welfare Association, saidthe facility would be based in a dedicated "family room" at thehospital.
"Psychiatric wards are not a good place for children to be, so the roomwill provide a warm, friendly environment for them," she said.
The work is backed by 37,500 of funding from Tower Hamlets Childand Adolescent Mental Health Service, and the money will last 18 months.
