Health News: Legal advice - Brain injury groups join to help

Families of children with brain injuries will no longer be faced with a postcode lottery when seeking impartial and expert legal services, according to charities that have launched a help group.

The Child Brain Injury Trust and the British Institute for Brain Injured Children have brought together seven legal firms that specialise in clinical negligence and children's cases.

Lisa Turan, the trust's chief executive, said the firms had committed themselves to standard minimum services and to directing cases towards the firm offering the most appropriate support.

The Child Brain Injury Group will give advice via a dedicated helpline. - 0800 587 2243.
