An exemplar documenting a young patient's journey, published by the Department of Health last month, will complement clinical guidelines for paediatricians and GPs to be published by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
Jill Moss, founding chairman of the Association of Young People with ME, which worked on both documents, said: "The information hasn't been there. These guidelines will stretch across the huge gap and start to join everything together."
