In a radical move shared by only a handful of other areas, all of thecity's children's community professionals are to be brought under themanagement of the trust by October.
Many councils already pool money with health bodies to jointly fundspecific services such as for disabled children. However, very fewchildren's trusts have used the agreement to bring together allcommunity health services, fully integrating all agencies.
All of the city's 200 health professionals, including health visitors,health development experts and consultant community paediatricians, willbe managed by the trust.
Health workers will continue to be employed by South Downs Health CareTrust, and will be supervised by other health professionals who manageother teams within the system.
