Health News: ADHD - Differing views on medication timing

Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are being prescribed medication that covers school hours but not mornings and evenings, the most stressful times for their families, campaigners are warning.

Research conducted for a campaign to focus on the issue found wide discrepancies in the perceptions of doctors and parents about how effectively symptoms were being controlled at these times.

It found that 85 per cent of doctors expected symptoms to be controlled from 8-9am, but only 62 per cent of parents agreed this was the case.
