Gateshead - 48.4 conceptions per 1,000 girls aged 15 to 17 in 2006 (40.4 in England)

Sheffield - 49.0 conceptions per 1,000 girls aged 15 to 17 in 2006 (40.4 in England)

Oxfordshire - 27.4 conceptions per 1,000 girls aged 15 to 17 in 2006 (40.4 in England)

Since 1998 the teenage conception rate in Gateshead has fallen by 15.1 per cent, compared to a drop of 13.3 per cent across England. The teenage pregnancy rate in Sheffield fell slower than the national rate by three per cent while in Oxfordshire the rate fell by 12.8 per cent.
