Taunton Deane - 10 infant deaths under one week per 1,000 women in 2005 (five in England)
In Allerdale the number of infant deaths increased from five in 2004 to nine in 2005, while in Hastings the number of infant deaths remained unchanged at eight. In Taunton Deane the number of infant deaths doubled from five to 10. Across England infant deaths fell by 184.
