The first issue of Children Now will be published on 7 January. It will be read by more than 25,000 managers and practitioners in the public and voluntary sectors, including education, children's social services, family support, primary healthcare, Sure Start and children's trusts.
As well as news, analysis and features, Children Now will provide a comprehensive specialist job section. The NCB will continue to provide comment and information about children's services to the magazine.
Formerly published quarterly by the NCB, Children Now will be edited by Stovin Hayter, previously editor of Young People Now and Haymarket's charity magazine, Third Sector. Steve Barrett becomes editor of Young People Now; Hayter retains his association with YPN as editor-in-chief.
