Handy business experience: Young entrepreneurs' trade fair inBexley

Sixteen-year-old Anum Pervez shows off her skills in applying henna at a young enterprise trade fair. The Year 12 student, from Beths School in the south London borough of Bexley, joined other young entrepreneurs keen to produce and market their own products.

Seven schools in the borough participated in the practical businessproject in conjunction with Bexley's Education Business Partnership.Keeping an eye on Valentine's Day, the young entrepreneurs, all fromyears 10 to 12, came up with a range of ideas, from gift packages forthe London Eye, hats and games, to iPod covers, jewellery, candles andt-shirts. This year is the 20th anniversary of the partnership, whichworks with business and community volunteers to raise the achievement ofyoung people in Bexley schools and colleges.www.bexley.gov.uk/service/ebp.
