London Councils will give the cash over the next four years to two projects that help children and women who are victims of domestic violence.
A grant of £600,000 has gone to the Women's Resource Centre to help it to offer advice, training and support to organisations that help children and women who have been abused. The work will include supporting smaller organisations by providing them with accredited training, briefings, advice on monitoring information and quality assurance guidance.
A further grant of £120,000 has been awarded to the charity Imkaan to support its work with ethnic minority voluntary and community organisations, including refuges for women and children who are fleeing domestic violence.
