Produced by the Young Adult Learners Partnership (YALP), a joint initiative of The NYA and NIACE, the training programme supports all those working with young people to develop awareness, skills and knowledge around:
- mentoring; - emotional intelligence; - learning; and - assessment and accreditation.
Stephen Foster, Getting Connected programme manager, commented: "These high-quality courses will be delivered by experienced trainers with a keen understanding of the issues faced by young people and those who work with them. As well as supporting the delivery of the Getting Connected curriculum, participants will gain knowledge, awareness and skills which they will find beneficial in all aspects of their youth work."
There are a number of course options available for those working directly with young people including:
- full four-day mentor development programme; - one-day introductory overview, Implementing Getting Connected; and - one day on each of mentoring, emotional intelligence, learning, assessment and accreditation.
