Get With It

1 min read
Petrol-powered miniature motorbikes, dubbed mini-motos, have been getting councils and the police hot under the collar over the past few years.

But just when residents thought it was safe to venture outside, a new motorised menace could be about to the hit the streets.

The Boom 2 Borda is an electric skateboard capable of reaching speeds of up to 25 miles an hour and covering distances of 30 miles on a single charge. The board is safe when used appropriately but it isn't road legal, prompting fears of a repeat of the mini-moto problems some councils had.

It looks great fun for projects with £450 to spend and enough riding space. But Get With It's prediction for 2008 is that, if sales of this set of wheels take off, the council crushers will be working overtime.
