How much is available? The fund is worth a total of £1m - small grants are for projects up to the value of £5,000, with large grants for those of between £5,000 and £50,000. Successful applicants must have spent the full grant by October 2015.
What will it pay for? The foundation is looking to fund projects that will benefit residents in one or more areas including financial inclusion; enterprise, employment and training; volunteering; health and wellbeing; or social research. Applications must meet a range of selection criteria, including clear evidence of need, quality, feasibility, value for money and project sustainability. There must be a clear risk assessment and robust evaluation methodology in place to support the application to show that the project can create a legacy. Grants are not available for individuals (to fund themselves), trips outside the UK, salaries (except for a sessional worker for a particular activity), commercial or profit-making activities or groups, statutory organisations, or the cost of work or activities that any other person or organisation has a statutory duty to undertake.
