Funding Watch: Children urged to enter Wavemakers awards

Children and young people are being urged to shout about their achievements and enter the second annual Wavemakers awards.

The national charity, which aims to highlight children and youngpeople's positive contribution to society, is seeking nominations forprojects developed and led by children and young people.

There are three award categories: groups or individual children aged 12and under; groups and individuals aged 13 to 19; and projects developedby organisations or services that have been led and inspired by childrenand young people.

The charity is looking for projects in the areas of social care, health,education and achievements in sport and music. All winners will beeligible to apply for a grant from Wavemakers' small grantsprogramme.

In December, the charity announced a partnership with Argos and winnersin the group and individual categories will have the chance to win a500 cash award sponsored by the high street retailer and votedfor by children and young people.
