FUNDING: Camelot introduces youth panel scheme for awarding grants

The 4front grants scheme was designed by a panel of 20 young people from youth organisations in Glasgow, Leeds, Northern Ireland and South Wales, including advocacy groups for young people in care and social inclusion partnerships.

The panel is now looking for applications from groups and individuals aged 14 to 23 who want to make a difference to the lives of other young people. Entrants are invited to make a five-minute video. The panel will assess the applications and draw up a shortlist for eight awards of 3,000 and 20 awards of 500.

Theresa McCormack, a 23-year-old working for One Plus, a lone parents' organisation in Glasgow, said: "Many people find it hard to express themselves in writing, but anyone can make a short video." If young people cannot get hold of video-making equipment, the Camelot Foundation will identify local partners
