Financial support: Government seeks teenagers' views

The Government wants to know what teenagers think of the way they receive financial support from the State.

The Educational Maintenance Allowance, child benefits and tax credits are all being considered in a nationwide survey of teenagers being carried out by the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services and Article 12 Young People's Organisation.

Kevin Munday, the council's deputy chief executive, said: "There is no pattern to financial support and the amount received can vary greatly. The Government is looking to improve and streamline the system."

His organisation is keen to find out the the views of 14- to 21-year-olds. The deadline for responses is 15 September.
