Finance: Advisory group to boost training

The Young Adults Advisory Group, which leads the work at the FSA, this week said it wants to make sure everyone working with young people is aware of the training by 2010-11, and that 20,000 have been through it.

The group has so far trained 700 professionals, but is hoping the appointment of outgoing National Youth Agency chair Tom Wylie as its new chair will boost its drive.

Wylie is to replace Trevor Phillips, chair of the Commission for Equality and Human Rights.

The aim of the programme is to help young people learn financial literacy by training the professionals who work with them. Wylie said: "Helping young people become more able with their finances is becoming ever more important."
