Family Support: Hughes to reveal parenting strategy

Children's minister Beverley Hughes was yesterday (Tuesday) due to announce what the Government's strategy on parenting is about.

She was expected to tell a Local Government Association conference thatfar from telling parents what to do, the Government wants to give themthe tools that they need to bring up their children.

Hughes was also set to announce 7.5m of funding to set upstrategies, 15,000 for 50 areas with family intervention projectsto train professionals, and 10 areas to host demonstration projects.
