The first consultation, Separate Representation of Children, putsforward plans to give children involved in custody battles more accessto legal representation.
It suggests recognising children as a party in the proceedings whenthere is a legal need, such as when children have evidence to give thecourt that another party could not give.
The second consultation, Family Procedure Rules, suggests giving courtsmore case management powers in family law cases and reducing the amountof information courts are given about children through the "statement ofarrangements". Both consultations end in early December.
