Faith: Survey to look into religious attitudes

1 min read

The centre, which has received just under 7,000 from the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund, will appoint a youth worker later this month to survey services in the area, including sports clubs and Connexions, and to speak to young people.

Beth Jackson, fundraising and development officer at the centre, said: "The impetus for the project is to find out if there are any problems or successes in Derby regarding faith and culture and how young people feel about faith. The aim of the centre is to encourage and educate people through dialogue, and to help break down barriers."

The centre, a registered charity that has been up and running since September, operates autonomously from the university. The six-month project will culminate in an interfaith youth conference by the end of the year.
