Employment: Rutland seeks to keep its young

The Positive About Young People quality standard was devised by Rutland County Council, and recognises employers' commitment to young people in the workplace. It is a series of steps for employers to take to prove they are serious about working with young people.

It was developed in partnership with Connexions Lincolnshire and Rutland, and, so far, Rutland County Council, Leicestershire Police, Leicestershire and Rutland Youth Offending Service, and University Hospitals Leicester have joined up.

The council is running the scheme in a bid to tempt more young people to work for it because less than five per cent of its workforce is aged under 25.
