Education News: Wales - Schools and YOTs to work together

Schools and youth offending teams (YOTs) in Wales should work more closely together to reduce offending and anti-social behaviour, according to guidance published last week.

Produced by the Children's Service Network in conjunction with the YouthJustice Board and the Welsh Assembly Government, Youth Justice andSchools in Wales is aimed at local education authorities, schools andpractitioners in the youth justice system.

The document details various strategies, including strategies for jointworking and information sharing, to tackle offending by children aged 10to 17.

Launching the document, Wales's education minister Jane Davidson, saidthe guidance would provide an opportunity to "create an open andconstructive relationship" between schools and YOTs.
